Silver sundial with compass

Silver sundial with compass
The presented sundial is the so-called Dollond sundial. Thanks to the compass, the device can be positioned on the north-south line. Thanks to this, when the gnomon, a triangular movable pointer on the top, is raised upright, the sun's rays will cast a shadow onto the outer dial of the device, where the hours are marked. The current time can then be read.
